Celebrate our Area Code Holiday on 816 Day!

This year’s August 16th is shaping up to be the biggest and best 816 Day yet! If you have never heard of 816 Day, it is the Missouri side of our community’s “Area Code Holiday”. Once again this year, the Downtown Council is working with a great group of community partners to offer a variety of ways to celebrate.

816 Day Bingo Cards

Our 816 Day Bingo Scavenger Hunt starts this year on Friday, July 31st.  We are excited to offer an all-digital playing experience.  Simply visit www.dnakcmo.org/816-Day to scan the code and get started playing the game.  The free event invites everyone to explore the vibrant Art in the Loop artwork we have along the KC Streetcar route this year along with visiting businesses both old and new. Not only is it a great way to engage with our local community and discover hidden gems, but you will be playing for a chance to win fantastic prizes!

Art in the Loop – 816 Day

The celebration culminates at the City Market on Sunday, August 16th at 6:00pm for a magical night of music, movement, and soul as Art in the Loop brings together extraordinary performers who each explore this year’s theme, Home, through rhythm, tradition, and self-expression. Home invites artists to explore the places, people, and dreams that bring us back to ourselves.  You can get free tickets for the event by clicking here. The artists include The DynamitExperience, Bodacious Thang, The Royal Chief and FK Menace.  They will all be performing live at the City Market.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Don’t forget your folding chairs or blankets!
