Techweek … is only a week away

Techweek is coming to Downtown Kansas City… and it’s only a week away.

Techweek, the nation’s largest technology conference + festival, chose Kansas City in January to be its sixth U.S. hub for its unique and immersive blend of tech learning, collaborating and networking. The other Techweek cities to hold annual conferences + festivals include Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Detroit.

Techweek is preparing for its first, annual KC conference – which opens Monday, Sept. 14 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 20 at Union Station, the Power & Light District and selected venues in the Crossroads Arts District.

If you have a passion or even a curiosity about the burgeoning innovation scene in Downtown Kansas City, then Techweek Kansas City is a must for you. Here are three reasons why:

  • More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the first Techweek KC. You can play a part in shaping the dynamic tech scenes. Just last month, Entrepreneur called KC “One of the nation’s top 9 cities for startups.”
  • LaunchKC, the global grants competition for tech entrepreneurs, will showcase 20 finalists – from 7 states and Chile – on Sept. 17 & 18. They will be competing for $500,000 in grants that will bring 10 startups to Kansas City, Missouri to begin to build their business dreams. LaunchKC is presented by the Missouri Technology Corporation, the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the William T. Kemper Foundation.
  • The Joy FormidableThe Welsh alternative rock band, will perform in a free Techweek concert at the Power & Light District on Sept. 18. And, it’s just the tip of the Techweek iceberg for performances and parties.

OK, there’s three reasons… for starters.. We’ll bring you three more next time.
