KCMO Street Resurfacing to Impact Downtown Traffic

Starting on September 11, 2022, the KC Streetcar will adjust hours of operation to support the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s street resurfacing project that will affect the KC Streetcar corridor including the City Market area and Main Street between 7th Street and Pershing Road. This includes the area around the City Market and will affect 3rd and 5th Streets, Grand Boulevard and Delaware Street.

Work is anticipated to start September 11 and last approximately five weeks, weather depending. Most of the work will take place Sunday through Thursday and during overnight hours. Work is being performed during weekday overnight hours to limit the disruption to streetcar operations. Additional signage will be posted at all streetcar stops to inform riders of this temporary schedule change. Throughout this duration, on-street parking on the streetcar route will be restricted.

During the City’s Street Resurfacing work, the KC Streetcar will operate with the following hours:
• Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (One-hour early termination)
• Monday – Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (One-hour delay start and one-hour early termination)
• Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. (One-hour delay start)
• Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. (Regular service)
• Saturday: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. (Regular service)
