Hemma Hemma Opening Downtown on Thursday, March 5th

On Thursday, March 5th, Hemma Hemma will open its second location, Hemma Hemma Dinette, in Downtown Kansas City’s Lightwell building at 1100 Main. Hemma Hemma opened their first location in 2023 as a daytime eatery in Waldo. The new concept will take the form of a dinette with retro Swedish vibes. The menu will introduce an In-N-Out–inspired burger, tuna melts, housemade milkshakes, steak and eggs, and house-cured pastrami served in both a breakfast burrito and a breakfast Reuben.

Fans of Hemma Hemma will still find favorites, like the herby chicken salad on the menu, alongside new breakfast highlights, including masa pancakes and smashed breakfast tacos, as well as cocktails, a full coffee bar, and oversized housemade pastries. Initially, the new restaurant will be open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, with plans to add weekend hours, brunch, and an outdoor patio in May.
