Momentum is building for the Greenline trail system! Not only will 2026 see large sections of the Western, Northern, and Eastern legs of the walkway open up for public use, but we are very excited to announce the Greenline will be the signature project for the spring semester at the KC Design Center.

As the trail loop takes shape, we can already envision families cycling together, joggers enjoying scenic views, and individuals being connected to many of downtown’s major attractions like never before. The opening next year will not only provide immediate access but will also serve as a physical catalyst for showing the public what the impact of a fully built out Greenline trail loop will do for our downtown.

Residents are abuzz with anticipation, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to explore the new routes that will connect neighborhoods, offer recreational opportunities, and provide a vital link to nature. This initial phase marks a significant milestone. Imagine soon being able to walk or bike from the Rock Island Bridge to CPKC Stadium!

To truly grasp the beauty and potential of what’s to come, we encourage everyone to watch the Greenline’s latest video. It offers a glimpse into the future, showcasing highlights of the trail system and the incredible experiences that await. From panoramic views to serene stretches of natural beauty, the video captures the essence of this transformative project and reinforces the shared excitement for its continual evolution.
