Save the date – 11th & 12th Complete Streets Connections events
Mark your calendar for next Tuesday, Nov. 30 to participate in Pop-Up Events at two locations, regarding the future of east-west connector route through the heart of Downtown KC.
The 11th & 12th Complete Streets Connections study is being developed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA). The goal is to identify potential improvements to reliability and efficiency for bicycle and bus mobility along the 11th and 12th Street corridors between Wyandotte Street and Troost Avenue.
Pop-Up public events are planned for 7-9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 at the 11th & Grand and 12th & Grand bus stops, AND from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Oppenstein Brothers Memorial Park at 1123 Walnut St. Members of the design team will be facilitating an online and in-person survey to gather input from the public on their current experience and what they would like to see on these corridors. The public is encouraged to stop by one of the Pop-Up locations that day or they can access the survey by going to https://bit.ly/3czDx8R.
The goals of this project align with KCMO’s Complete Street ordinance to make our streets safer and more accessible for all users: bicyclists, pedestrians, transit-users, and vehicles. Study goals include a proposed design that provides more reliable bus service through Downtown AND includes an east-west bicycle corridor through Downtown.
