PARKing Day + Alanis + What’s shakin’ this weekend

Block party to celebrate KC PARK(ing) Day on Saturday

Make plans to celebrate the first Downtown Neighborhood Association block party from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday in celebration of the global PARK(ing) Day.

The DNA will open up three blocks of Walnut Street (9th-12th streets) to pedestrians and transform street parking spaces into creative pop-up parks. This FREE event will highlight these pop-up parks, known as “parklets”, which will fill Downtown with art, music, entertainment, education, and food trucks.

PARK(ing) Day began in 2005 in San Francisco and grew into a global event celebrated annually by hundreds of cities to highlight the need for more urban open space.

Come play, eat, and relax in the parklets and enjoy one of our most underutilized public spaces, streets!  Click here for more information. See you there!

Seven-time Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette will celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘Jagged Little Pill’ on Sunday evening at the T-Mobile Center.
