‘Thursday Night Arts’ opens a virtual door to get-togethers with local artists

Here is a breath of fresh air for art lovers. ArtsKC and KC Crew have teamed up to present a virtual, weekly program – Thursday Night Arts – that connects local artists with art lovers all from the security of home.

Vocalist Lee Langston

Sign up here for the Thursday Night Arts program that airs live on Thursday evenings through March, and hear from four different local artists and musicians directly from their home studios.

Each free showcase provides audience members an opportunity to get intimate with their favorite local creatives; listen to their stories; and see exclusive pieces of work. A new artist goes live every 30 minutes to interact with the virtual audience. The next Thursday Night Arts is set for 6-8 p.m. this Thursday.

“Right now, many of us want to attend in-person events, but the risk is just too great. We want to make sure we are still providing our community with an opportunity to stay connected while it’s still hard to convene in large groups,” said Dana Knapp, ArtsKC president & CEO. “Similarly, we are trying to provide artists with an opportunity to continue showcasing their art, receive monetary support, and be involved.

The next Thursday Night Arts will feature a mix of visual and performances artists including Ryan WilksVania Soto, Lee Langston, and Vincent Orsolini.
