City Market to host blood drive on Giving Tuesday
The City Market will play host to a blood drive – in partnership with the Community Blood Center (CBC) – on Giving Tuesday (May 26) at the Steamboat Arabia Museum.
As the greater Downtown community begins to reopen and hospitals anticipate the return of elective surgeries, the CBC has issued an urgent call for healthy blood donors. In order to maintain a safe blood supply, a seven-day inventory of all blood types must be continually replenished. Right now, reserves are far below that minimum.
To participate, you can make an appointment between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday at https://bit.ly/2LpBPsW or call 1-877-468-6844. Donors are asked to wear masks. Temperatures will be checked at the door and social distancing protocols will be in place. Please note – appointments will be required; walk-ins will not be accepted. Donors will receive a Buy One Get One or half-off single admission coupon to tour the Steamboat Arabia to redeem at a later date.
