The Downtown and River Market Community Improvement Districts (CID) are teaming up with NourishKC on a food drive to help food the hungry in Kansas City.

The campaign – FEEDING KC – begins Monday, April 27 and runs through Sunday, May 31. The effort is direct response to the growing depletion of inventory at local food pantries, said Sean O’Byrne, executive director of the CIDs.

FEEDING KC invites greater Downtown residents and tenants to put basic, non perishable foods in a sack or box, and then text (816) 820-3475 to alert CID Ambassadors to stop by for pick-up.

“Simply leave your donation at your outside door or in the lobby of your building” O’Byrne said. “We will coordinate the pick-up and delivery of them to NourishKC for distribution to local food pantries.”

For more information on the food drive, call the CID at (816) 421-5243.
