The Oktoberfest event at Crown Center will not take place in 2009. The Downtown Council and Crown Center agreed in February not to hold the event in 2009. Each of the festival's organizers expressed concern about the financial viability of Oktoberfest in this year's economic climate. 

The Downtown Council and Crown Center are optimistic about seeing the event return in 2010. Please accept our deepest gratitude to all sponsors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers, and partners for seven wonderful years!
