Driving

Downtown Kansas City is the heart of metropolitan Kansas City. It features easy access from I-70, I-35 and U.S. 71.

Here are FOUR insider tips to ease your journey to Downtown:

1. Arrive early and park close to your destination. There are more than 22,000 parking spaces in greater Downtown.

2. Plan ahead. Be creative when selecting your route to Downtown. Evening event traffic is generally heaviest at the I-35 exit onto Broadway. Consider other routes to avoid congestion on your way to Sprint Center, the Power & Light District, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, the Music Hall and the Midland Theatre.

3. Arrive early and make it a date night. Downtown destinations are surrounded by outstanding and unique restaurants. All are within a short walk or shorter drive to your event. A complete list of Downtown restaurants and bars is found under Life; What to Do; Dining.

4. For an insiders guide to navigating Downtown, go to Maps for a downloadable driving and parking map.
