Frommer’s recent selection of Kansas City as a Top 10 Travel Destination is even more remarkable because it is the only American city on the annual list.

“When Kansas City’s Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts opened in September 2011, the new building was immediately hailed as an architectural icon,” Forbes said. “…it not only looks interesting, it’s one of the most technically advanced performances halls in the nation.”

Frommer’s cites a short list of other outstanding Kansas City attractions, with the vast majority being Downtown, including the National WWI Museum, College Basketball Experience, Power & Light District, American Jazz Museum, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and Kansas City barbecue.

Downtown Kansas City has, indeed, been transformed into the region’s most desirable, efficient and convenient place to live, work and play — complete with vibrant, diverse neighborhoods in a clean, safe and walkable community.
