2011 J. Philip Kirk Jr. Award in Recognition of Community Vision and Downtown Stewardship

Overview
This award is presented annually by the Downtown Council to a community leader whose vision, guidance and commitment have helped set Downtown Kansas City on a clear path for revitalization. The award’s namesake, J. Philip Kirk Jr., epitomizes these qualities.

Criteria for Nomination
The recipient will have made an important contribution to Downtown Kansas City in at least two of the following areas:
A. Creating a capital investment, new building, renovation or technology
B. Increasing the Downtown resident or employee population, business starts or entrepreneurial retail starts
C. Improving Downtown neighborhoods and quality of life, in the area of businesses, housing, streetscape or the urban environment
D. Displaying a continued commitment to improving the social fabric of Downtown Kansas City
